Discovering a new dimension: coaching in virtual worlds

I hope you are all doing well as March continues to bring us surprises and challenges in both the real and virtual worlds. The latter because it’s always an exciting challenge to learn something new about your profession and how you can reach more people via new platforms. To that end I want to take a moment to share with you how I became a virtual world proponent and how it revolutionized my coaching career.

My journey began with a painful relationship breakup that left me feeling lost and disconnected from the world. As I was exploring ways to heal, I stumbled upon Second Life, a virtual world where you can create an avatar and interact with others in a 3D environment. At first, I was skeptical of the idea of building relationships, not lease learning how to apply coaching to a virtual world. However, as I started to explore this new space, I realized that the sense of presence was so much stronger than on two-dimensional platforms like Zoom. I felt like I was truly connecting with others on a deeper level than ever before.

I set up The Healing Pool in 2008, a virtual sanctuary in Second Life, as a safe space for people to come and explore their emotions and life goals with my coaching guidance. Using this virtual environment, I was able to help my clients overcome phobias, manage stress, and work towards their personal and professional aspirations. It was a powerful tool for me to expand my market reach and access those who might not have been able to work with me in person due to costs or location limitations.

One of the most intriguing aspects of coaching in a virtual world was the ability to work with clients who were not comfortable being seen via video or voice. In the virtual world, you can communicate entirely using text chat, providing a sense of privacy and anonymity that is not always possible in the real world. This made coaching accessible to a whole new group of clients.

As I continued to explore the potential of virtual worlds and judging by the positive feedback I gained from in-world clients, I became more and more convinced of their power in supporting mental health and wellbeing. The Virtual World Coaching Academy was born, with the mission of helping coaches be better coaches through innovative and cutting-edge methodologies and systems, including those that involve quantum physics and quantum field theory in the area of healing and mindset control.

Virtual worlds help you hone or develop your coaching skills depending on your level experience. So I invite you to take your first steps into the world of virtual coaching by setting up your free avatar on www.kitely.com.

Exploring how to navigate and customise your avatar will enable you to be ready for any future events at the Virtual World Coaching Academy 3D Campus.

Once you have set up your free avatar account you will be eligible to join our in-world access group by sending an email to virtualworldcoachingacademy@gmail.com with your exact avatar name

Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to connecting with you in the virtual world, online and beyond.

Best regards,

Gina Pickersgill

Founder of Virtual World Coaching Academy
